About Our Programs

At a time when the skills and pedagogy of classroom teachers and school administrators are more important than ever, the USF College of Education offers state-of-the-art teacher training and collaborative and collegial graduate studies designed to empower educational leaders.

Working closely with our partners in the school districts across the Tampa Bay region, we seek to work with our community to extend proven educational initiatives and discover new ways of preparing life-long learners.

The College of Education offers graduate programs in more than 30 different areas of study. Many of our graduate programs offer concentrations under a “Curriculum and Instruction” major. The College also offers graduate certificate programs in a variety of topics relevant to the education field.

For information about our graduate programs, please refer to individual sections of the USF Graduate Catalog. Students seeking initial certification (teacher certification, school counseling, school psychology, etc.) must be admitted to one of the degree programs offered in the College.

Individuals seeking additional information should contact the College of Education Graduate Support Office by visiting our website at https://www.usf.edu/education/graduate/graduate-support-office/index.aspx.

Students who have questions about the curriculum for one of our graduate programs should contact the faculty program coordinator.

Please be advised that major curriculum and/or course requirements are subject to change per state legislative mandates, Florida State Department of Education program approval standards, and accreditation criteria. In instances where college or major requirements exceed university minimum requirements, students must meet the highest order of requirements presented.

Please check with the faculty program coordinator for your major of interest to determine whether there are programmatic variations. Please note also that the College’s requirements and major curriculum requirements are stated always as minimum requirements.
