Dear Students:
Welcome to the University of South Florida.
At USF, our focus is clear: Deliver an education that leads to opportunity, impact and long-term success. We are happy that you are joining our family.
Across our colleges, you have access to more than 120 majors, nearly 200 concentrations and 100 minors, offering both depth in your chosen field and the flexibility to explore new interests.
We continue to expand these opportunities, including a new degree program focusing on cognitive science and interdisciplinary programs that connect fields such as religion and health or computer science with fields such as business, criminology and interdisciplinary social sciences. These new degree options reflect the reality that today’s most important challenges do not exist within a single discipline.
At USF, we are committed to preparing you with the skills that will matter most in a rapidly changing world: critical thinking, adaptability, collaboration and the ability to apply knowledge in real-world settings. Our faculty, staff and partners are here to support you, not only in the classroom, but also in helping you translate your education into meaningful career outcomes.
Your experience here extends well beyond academics. With hundreds of student organizations and extensive opportunities available across the Tampa Bay region, you will build connections, test ideas and develop the confidence to lead.
This is an important moment in USF’s trajectory. The Association of American Universities is an invitation-only group representing the nation’s leading research institutions, and USF is a member of that prestigious organization. That distinction carries responsibility: To think boldly, to engage deeply and to contribute to something larger than yourself.
My advice is simple: Take full advantage of what is in front of you. Ask questions. Seek out new experiences. Build relationships. And do not hesitate to ask for help. We are here to support your success.
Your future starts here. Let’s make it count.
As always,
Go Bulls!
