EEL 6737 Microprocessor Principles and Applications Credit Hours: 3
Review of digital system design concepts such as combinational/sequential elements and finite-state-machines, ASM charts, complex units design, and CPU design. Parallelism, pipelining and other micro-architectural optimizations are introduced. The VHDL hardware description language is introduced and used for hands-on projects based on FPGAs.
