An introduction to sociological perspectives and methods and the basic areas of sociological interests such as socialization, gender, race and ethnic relations, deviance, social control, and social stratification. Required for sociology majors and minor. This course affords students an understanding of the basic social and behavioral science concepts and principles used in the analysis of behavior and past and present social, political, and economic issues.
