MAE 4320 - Teaching Mathematics in the Middle Grades


Credit(s): 3
This is a required course for the undergraduate Mathematics Education Program. It is to be taken as a pre-requisite for MAE 4330. The major goal of the course is to provide prospective middle school teachers the opportunity to develop concepts, skills, and pedagogical procedures for effective teaching of mathematics in grades 5-9. To this end, the course will provide for an integration of mathematics content and the middle school philosophy while examining learning and teaching at this level.
