Playwrights and artists create documentary theatre by interpreting real-life stories from personal experiences, oral histories, social issues or events using recorded interviews and various types of documents and materials. Students will study different models of documentary theatre by examining the history of the genre, the purpose, the form, and the content of well-known documentary works.
