Astronomy Minor


The Astronomy Minor provides an in-depth overview of Astronomy from a mainly conceptual perspective. Any student wanting to learn more about the universe can earn the Minor in Astronomy regardless of their degree, including physics majors.

Minor Requirements

A minor in Astronomy consists of 12 credit hours.

GPA Requirements

A minimum 2.0 GPA average in the 12 credit hours is required for obtaining this minor.

Grading Requirement

A “C-” is the minimum acceptable grade for any course in the minor.

Other Information

None of the courses for the Astronomy minor count towards a Physics B.A. or B.S.

USF students schedule advising appointments online through USF Archivum Platform.   Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor each semester to discuss courses planning, degree progression, and career preparation.
