Humanities Minor

TOTAL MINOR HOURS: 18

The Humanities program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that investigates the visual arts, music, and literature, film, and the social and historical contexts from which they emerge.

Minor Requirements


The curriculum for the Humanities minor is comparable to that of the program for the B.A. degree, but it is less comprehensive.

Minor Core (18 Credit Hours)


Students take eighteen (18) credit hours of upper-level coursework from Humanities and Cultural Studies with an AMS, FIL, or HUM prefix.

  • No more than six of these eighteen hours may be taken below the 3000 level.

Residency Requirements


At least 8 credit hours for the minor must be USF coursework.

Advising Information


USF students schedule advising appointments online through USF Archivum Platform.   Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor each semester to discuss courses planning, degree progression, and career preparation.
