Teaching in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Certificate

This Teaching In Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Certificate is an effort to assist in the recruitment, motivation, and preparation of clinical and academic educators who can inspire students to advance the profession or research of pharmacy.
 
There is a difference between experts in a particular field of study; those who are well versed and able to function in their prospective field versus a teacher of that practiced knowledge. One expertise does not translate into the other field. There is a difference between adaptive experts, whose metacognitive skills allow the transfer of knowledge from one setting to another, and routine experts, whose expertise allows them to function well in standard settings but doesn’t serve them well when conditions differ.
 
This Graduate Certificate in Teaching in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences will aid PharmD, M.S. and Ph.D. students and current pharmacists seeking additional skills to advance themselves in teaching their expertise with the ability to adapt their knowledge into teaching materials and applications for students’ dissemination. This Graduate Certificate will also provide specific instruction into the specialized field of Adult Education and college teaching.

Graduate Certificate Admissions and Process

Students must apply and be admitted into the Graduate Certificate to be eligible to receive a Graduate Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Graduate Certificate Director prior to applying. 

Applicants must meet the following admission requirements:

  1. University Admission Requirements, including English Proficiency    
  2. Graduate Certificate Admission Requirements

Graduate Certificate Time Limit

Five (5) Years.
