The Graduate Certificate in Disabilities Education: Severe/Profound supports teachers and related professionals to work more effectively with students who have labels of severe/profound disabilities in sensitively accessing general education curriculum in meaningful ways. It is anticipated that these courses will meet the requirements of the Florida Department of Education’s Endorsement in the field of Intellectual Development Disabilities (Severe/Profound). Collaborative and multidisciplinary working is a theme through each course as a way to increase student access to general education curriculum in the least restrictive environment.
Graduate Certificate Admissions and Process
Students must apply and be admitted into the Graduate Certificate to be eligible to receive a Graduate Certificate. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Graduate Certificate Director prior to applying.
