Psychology Minor

The purpose of the minor is to help students majoring in other disciplines obtain an appropriate psychology background that will complement their work in their major.

Minor Requirements


A minor in Psychology consists of a minimum of 18 credit hours, comprising of PSY 2012 , PSY 3204  (or any approved statistics course), and any four (4) upper-level psychology courses listed within the minor elective category, except PSY 4913 .

Total Minor Credit Hours: 18


Minor Core Credit Hours: 6


Minor Elective Credit Hours: 12


Choose four (4) upper-level psychology courses from the following list:

GPA Requirement


A GPA of 2.0 or better in the minor is required for certification.

Grading Requirement


Students minoring in Psychology must obtain a “C” or better in PSY 2012  and PSY 3204  (or any approved statistics course).



In addition, a “C-“ or better is required for all other courses that count toward the Psychology minor.

Residency Requirements


A minimum of 6 credit hours must be obtained from upper-level electives at USF, that are unique to the minor.
