The Minor in Art Studio at the University of South Florida is designed to provide students with a scope of experiences in art. The program consists of 24 credit hours of study that strengthens your critical thinking and visual communication skills, enhancing your ability to solve problems creatively.

Minor Requirements (24 Credit Hours)
A minimum of 24 credit hours is required for the minor in Art Studio, in the following distribution: Art Area Preparation (18 Credit Hours)
Art Studio (6 Credit Hours)
Beginning Studio Workshop (3 credit hours)
Students will choose one from of the following courses:
- ART 2400C - Beginning Printmaking Credit(s): 3
- ART 2500C - Beginning Painting Credit(s): 3
- ART 2701C - Beginning Sculpture Credit(s): 3
- ART 2750C - Beginning Ceramics Credit(s): 3
- FIL 2723C - Introduction to Animation Credit(s): 3
- PGY 2401C - Beginning Photography Credit(s): 3
Intermediate Studio Workshops (3 credit hours)
Students will choose one from of the following courses:
ART 3XXX, ART 4XXX, FIL 3XXX, FIL 4XXX, DIG 3XXX, DIG 4XXX, PGY 3XXX, PGY 4XXX
Students have the opportunity for studio experience in a variety of areas: Animation & Digital Modeling, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture & Extended Media, and Video.
GPA Requirements
A minimum overall GPA of 2.0 is required for the minor. Grading Requirements
Students must earn a “C” or better in their minor coursework. |
