The goal of the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post Master’s or DNP) Graduate Certificate is to prepare advanced practice registered nurses with sufficient didactic and clinical experiences to qualify for national certification and practice as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). Such nurse practitioners provide a full range of mental health treatment and support services to patients across the lifespan, including diagnosis, medication management, and psychotherapeutic intervention.

Additional Admission Requirements
In addition to the University Admission Requirements, this Certificate requires the following:
- An M.S.N. (or DNP) in Nursing from an accredited university and maintain certification in another advanced practice specialty. Validation of coursework in Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Health Assessment is required not to exceed 10 years prior to term of entry.
- Advanced Practice Nurse Certification, and
- Current licensure in the State of Florida
- Applications will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and exceptions may be considered.

- Official transcripts
- A resume
- Letter of Intent
- Two letters of recommendation one from a supervisor and one from a healthcare provider (APRN, PA, or MD) indicating potential for graduate study.

Graduate Certificate Time Limit
Five (5) Years.
