First semester of a two semester sequence of non-calculus-based general physics (mechanics, heat, wave motion, sound, electricity, magnetism, optics, modern physics) for science students.
Course Attribute(s): CANP - Natural Sciences (Physical Science), SGEN - General Education Core Natural Sciences, SMEL - General Education Elective, SMNS - Natural Sciences, SPNS - Natural Sciences
Prerequisite(s): MAC 1147 or MAC 2311 or MAC 2281 with a C- or better and PHY 2053L with a C- or better (Concurrent: Y)
Corequisite(s): PHY 2053L
Other Information: Must be taken concurrently with lab and, if dropped, then dropped simultaneously. May not receive credit for both the PHY 2053 and PHY 2048 courses.
