THE 3114 - Musical Theatre History and Literature Credit(s): 3 The Study of Musical Theatre from the roots and influences of the genre through the “Golden Age” and then to today. Examining how each element contributes to the success or failure of a musical, how musical theatre has shaped and reflects American culture, why musicals continue to be so popular in our community, and what the future might hold. Normally fifteen musicals will be read/watched.
