THE 4574 - Sport as Performance

Credit(s): 3
Students will use contemporary theory to critique and analyze the interconnected elements of athletic and stage performance, including the athlete/artist, stadium/stage and audience/spectator. Spanning topics from the body to the arena, team mascots, professional wrestling and social media, the course will inform and expand our knowledge in both disciplines.
