CCJ 3623 - Violence

This course addresses the issue of violence in society from abroad, critical theory, and multi-disciplinary perspective. The course considers mainly “street type” violence as defined by criminal laws. It also considers other forms of violence: terrorism, gangs, genocide, corporate violence, etc. We will look at correlates of violence: location, age, gender, inequality, socioeconomic status, race, education, and triggering factors.
