Professional and Technical Communication Minor

The Professional and Technical Communication minor is designed to provide students with both a practical and theoretical orientation to communication in a variety of media and genres. In doing so, it helps prepare them for multiple professional pathways to work as innovative professional or technical communicators in a variety of fields – from government to non-profit to business to medicine – as well as providing the skills necessary to enter multiple graduate programs. Minor Requirements
The minor in Professional and Technical Communication (PTC) consists of four (4) courses (12 credit hours). Total Minor Credit Hours: 12
Minor Core Credit Hours: 3
Minor Elective Credit Hours: 9
Select three (3) courses from the following list.
NOTE: Students may only count three (3) credits of ENC 2210 , ENC 3246 , or ENC 3250 toward the nine (9) credits of required minor elective coursework.
GPA Requirement
A grade point average of 2.0 minimum is required for this minor. Grading Requirement
The minor course minimum grade is a “C-” (1.67). A grade of below C- will not be counted toward fulfilling the minor requirements.
