Health Informatics Minor

TOTAL MINOR HOURS: 12
The minor in health informatics will provide students with foundational competencies in health informatics. Areas of emphasis include the design, development, adoption, implementation, and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services delivery, public health, consumer health, and health information management. Health information technology standards, terminology, policy, privacy and security are also covered in this minor program.
Students will be required to take 2 core courses to cover the fundamentals of health informatics. The students will then be able to tailor their minor towards there career path by selecting two electives.

Required Minor Courses: (12 credit hours)
Minor Core Courses: 2 courses; 6 credit hours
Minor Elective Courses: 2 courses; 6 credit hours

Minor GPA (all USF courses which are applied to minor requirements): 2.0 Grading Requirements
A “C” (2.0) or better to meet minor course requirements unless specified elsewhere Note: Some USF courses have higher grade criteria to meet prerequisite knowledge necessary for progression into higher level courses. Residency Requirements
CAS Minor Academic Residency Requirement: Fifty percent (50%) of the minor must be taken at USF Advising Information
