SCE 5325 MAT Teaching Methods in Middle Grades Science I Credit Hours: 3
The purpose of this course is to equip you with the necessary knowledge, skills, and dispositions to be an effective teacher of science. The course is designed to immerse you in learning experiences that will provide you with a robust understanding of science teaching and learning from the perspective of both learner and teacher. Though this is not a science content course, we will utilize model lessons that exemplify science competencies middle school teachers are expected to achieve related to unifying concepts and processes, science as inquiry, physical science, life science, earth and space science, science and technology, science in personal and social perspectives, and the history and nature of science.
