PHZ 6736 Radiological Physics and Dosimetry


Credit Hours: 3

This course covers fundamental concepts in medical radiation physics: ionizing radiation interactions with water and tissues; sources of ionizing radiation used in medicine; cavity theory, instruments and methods for the calculation and measurement of absorbed dose; introduction to radiotherapy treatment planning using megavoltage photon and electron beams; and introduction to brachytherapy.
