Lifestyle Medicine Minor


Lifestyle medicine is an evidence-based approach to prevent, treat, and reverse the progression of chronic health conditions through comprehensive lifestyle changes. 

Students graduating with a minor in Lifestyle Medicine will be certified in Lifestyle Medicine Coaching (granting eligibility to sit for the national board exam) and may enter the workforce or continue their education in a variety of graduate programs including, but not limited to, Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry, Physical or Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, Pharmacy, Health Administration, and Public Health.

Required Minor Courses: (12 credit hours)


Minor Core Courses: 3 courses; 9 credit hours


Students are required to successfully complete the following courses:

GPA Requirements


USF coursework for a minor must have a minimum GPA of at least 2.0.

Grading Requirements


A minimum grade of C- for all required courses.

Advising Information


USF students schedule advising appointments online through USF’s Archivum platform. Students are encouraged to meet with their advisor each semester to discuss course planning, degree progression, and career preparation.

It is highly recommended that students meet with an advisor in the College of Public Health early to verify coursework for the minor.
